Baggage scales at the airport: weighing technology from SysTec
Weighing electronics for modern self bag drop stations and scales at the classic check-in
Baggage scales are indispensable at airports as they enable smooth and efficient handling of passengers and baggage. SysTec's proven weighing technology can help to increase the efficiency of airlines and airport operators. Accurate weighing is essential to contribute to flight safety and to avoid additional passenger fees. The increasing automation and digitalization of weighing procedures speed up processes and improve passengers' travel experiences.
Part of this are W&M approved scales that are integrated into modern self bag drop systems. This allows passengers to check in themselves and their (large) baggage simply and with ease. Of course, weighing electronics also play an important role in traditional baggage check-in at staffed check-in counters to enable the verified weight determination of baggage items. SysTec has also the right solution for baggage scales not requiring W&M approval, which are used, for example, for independent hand baggage weight checks.
Which weighing solutions does SysTec offer?
1. Weighing technology for scales at self check-in counters
For baggage scales at modern self service check-in counters with bag drop systems, SysTec offers blackbox versions of the IT1 and IT3 weighing indicators in combination with the PC ScaleView software. The SysTec weighing indicator ensures precise recording of baggage weight and the PC ScaleView software displays the baggage weight to travelers on the approved display of the self bag drop counter.
2. Weighing technology for scales at classic staffed check-in counters
SysTec offers a solution with two DKUs and an IT3 Blackbox for classic check-in counters with staff. One DKU is used to display the baggage weight for the passenger and the counter staff can read the weight on the other DKU. The DKUs are weighing display and control units for operating and configuring the SysTec IT3 weighing indicator blackbox.
